Considering that the Serni mine is located in Hormozgan province, Minab County, Serni village, the strategic position of this mine reveals that Hormozgan, due to its access to the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea, is one of Iran's key export gateways. The proximity of the Serni mine to Bandar Abbas (the largest commercial port in Iran) makes the transportation of mineral stones, especially jasper for global markets, very cost-effective and fast. In addition to various types of jasper, the Serni mine also has abundant reserves of manganese and chromite, indicating its high quality and potential for investment. The presence of economically viable deposits is a key strength of this mine.

The word 'Jasper' in Greek (iaspis) means 'spotted and exotic stone.' In the past, another name for jasper in Persian was 'Yashp.' Historically, it can be considered a gemstone in Azerbaijani, Persian, Hebrew, Assyrian, and Greek cultures, where it was highly valued. Green jasper, in particular, was used around 4,000 to 5,000 years before Christ.
